A hiker who sparked a massive ground and air search after he became lost in the Kosciuszko National Park has been found safe and well.

NSW Police said the 43-year-old Kalkite man managed to find his own way back to his car about 3am on Tuesday, after more than 24 hours alone in the bush.
It is understood the man went to Dead Horse Gap near Thredbo with the intention of walking to Ramshead Range about 1am on Monday.
He called a friend around dawn to tell them he was lost.
Rescuers searched for the man for hours from the air and on foot.
Police from Monaro Local Area Command responded to a call about the lost man about 11am.
The Wespac Lifesaver Helicopter joined in the search soon after although severe turbulence hampered search efforts.
The man managed to get back to the road and call a friend to let them know he was safe once he returned to his car.
Police spoke to the man at Jindabyne shortly afterwards, before he was able to return home.
