Whatever the special allure, dolls of all shapes and sizes feature in the current Gallery on Track exhibition.

The Artists' Dolls exhibition features dolls made out of all sorts of materials, including textiles, clay, fabric, and found materials. It also features giant paintings and quilts of dolls.

Gallery on Track curator Carol Divall said the Artists' Dolls exhibition is something "quirky, contemporary, colourful, and inspiring".

"There is something about dolls that inspire art work across various mediums," Mrs Divall said.

"This is such a fun exhibition, I really encourage people to come down and have a look at it.

"Better still, come down and vote for your favourite doll and the artist will get a prize."

The exhibition represents many artists who are members of the Goulburn and District Arts and Crafts Group.

Mrs Divall also pointed out many of the other colourful wares located in the gallery.

The gallery is the home of the Goulburn and District Arts and Crafts Group and located in the former Railway Barracks, dating from 1891.

Mrs Divall said there was a constantly changing display of items for sale at the gallery, including paintings, ceramics, woodwork, jewellery, garments, textile arts and glasswork.

"The gallery is becoming a very colourful place indeed, with many artist's wares on display and for sale," she said.

"It also has a large crib room for workshops and meetings."

Gallery on Track on Blackshaw Rd in Goulburn is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am-4pm.
