THE condition of Oallen Ford Rd near Windellama is deteriorating with increased wear and tear, locals say.

The road is increasingly popular with motorists as a quick thoroughfare to the coast. A new bridge built last year has increased traffic, but such volumes are coming at a cost.
Johnno Marshall, who runs Johnno's Corner General Store and Takeaway on Windellama Rd, brought photos of Oallen Ford Rd's decay into the Post to alert the community to the road's deterioration.
He said it used to be a good road until the trucks got onto it.
"Regular maintenance on the Windellama and Oallen Ford roads has not been done, or if it has, it hasn't been done properly," Mr Marshall said.
"Work on the patching of the roads that the council does is inadequate.
"In response to my contacting the council recently, they came out last Wednesday, but all they did was spray-tar the road.
"The road will just deteriorate further unless they do more work out here because the road base is moving underneath.
"It is unstable and becomes more so with any flooding."
His recent complaints about the state of the roads follow on from a story the Post ran in February this year, in which Mr Marshall collected a petition of more than 300 signatures.
The signatories were residents unhappy with the state of Oallen Ford, Spa and Bullamalita roads, as well as some of the bridges on these roads.
Mr Marshall presented this petition to Goulburn Mulwaree Council representatives at the time.
At that meeting with the council, Mr Marshall said he was given assurances the condition of these roads was being looked into.
A council spokesperson responded to questions from the Post about the state of these roads this week, specifically about whether the council was planning any further road work on the Oallen Ford or Windellama roads in the near future.
"There is some widening works currently underway on a section of Oallen Ford Rd," the council spokesperson said.
"More works will continue in the 2016/17 capital works program on Oallen Ford and Windellama Road.
"Works will be undertaken throughout the coming financial year.
"This work will include widening sections of each road on a priority basis then applying a new seal over the widened pavement."
Meanwhile, Mr Marshall keeps a watch on these roads for the safety of his community.
