The "Wilmac boys", Corey McAlister and Ryan Wilson, are already on their way to Mackay in Queensland to start in a rally to Hobart.
It's the fourth consecutive year they have been invited to the rally, which this year traverses four states from May 7 to May 13.
Their vehicle of choice is a cream 1979 Chrysler Sigma station wagon, which Mr McAlister purchased on eBay last year for $500.
So far they've managed to raise $5052 as well as awareness for the Cancer Council, Australia's peak body for cancer patients.
The disease is a cause particularly close to Mr McAlister's heart, as his aunt died of cancer last year at the age of 47.
Rally rules state competitors must purchase a vehicle for no more than $1000 and only roughly the same amount on maintenance and fuel for the trip.
Any further expenses must come from their own pockets.
