The singer, activist, writer and former politician was the headline speaker of the regional session of the Sydney Writers Festival.
The 63-year-old read excepts of his new book “Big Blue Sky” to the crowd and was interviewed on stage by Rike Krishnabhakdi-Vasilakis of the South Coast Writers Centre, before hinting he would be touring soon without his band.
“I hope I’ll be back by myself actually, do a bit of music in a couple of months time,” he told the audience.
Just last week the Midnight Oil frontman announced returned to the recording studio after writing his memoirs, with a new album “A Version of Now” to be released on July 15.
Meantime, Midnight Oil will be touring the country in 2017.
