In Saturday’s game the Geckos had to work hard to record their two goals to nil victory.

The first half began as a very even contest with most of the play around the midfield and neither team being able to penetrate the others circle.

In the seventh and eighth minute the Geckos received two penalty corners and Albury’s goalkeeper Scott Foley saved both shot attempts.

It was the twelfth minute and the Geckos were awarded back to back penalty corners and Aaron Kershaw converted the second giving the geckos the first of their two goals.

The Geckos kept applying the pressure and missed chances to score in the 23rd and 25th minute.

Albury were finding it hard to penetrate the Geckos circle and in the 28th minute the Geckos went on another raid into Albury’s circle and received two penalty corners but failed to convert either.

Five minutes from halftime Albury got their attack going and received two penalty corners, the first the shot went wide and the second wes saved by goalkeeper Jason Brayshaw.

Goulburn went to the half time break one goal up with Albury scoreless.

The second half began with the play fairly even, the Geckos missed a chance to score in the 42nd minute that was saved by Scott Foley.

Then in the 45th minute Albury made a fast break and looked likely to score but the shot for goal went wide.

The Geckos went to two goals to nil just after the 57th minute when they were awarded a penalty corner.

Ben Stainses picked up a rebound and found the backboard.

In the final 10 minutes both teams had a couple of chances to score without success.Goulburn finished the first game with a two to nil win over The Albury visitors.

Best for Goulburn was Aaron Kershaw, Dean Robertson and Ben Staines.

Best for Albury was Zac Kraich and Scott Foley.

Sunday’s game was totally different when Albury were able to turn it around for a thoroughly deserved four goal to one victory.

Albury went on the attack early and after three minutes Josh Pritchard intercepted a Gecko pass out of defence and scored.

The visitors had the first goal on the board.

All the momentum was with Albury and after five minutes they are awarded a penalty corner but goalkeeper Jason Brayshaw saved the shot attempt.

Albury kept their attack going and after 20 minutes took a two goal to nil lead.

They received a penalty corner and Andrew Monte converted it.

In the 23rd minute the Geckos finally got a chance to score but the shot went high.

In the 26th minute Albury put on a team play and the Geckos goalkeeper made a great save.

Two minutes later from halfway the Geckos received a penalty corner, but Scott Foley saved the goal shot.

At half time Albury was up two goals to nil.

Three minutes into the second half the Geckos missed another penalty corner.

At 41 minutes Albury attacked and the Geckos goalkeeper made a fine save. Geckos made a good passing move and received a corner. 

Ben Staines converted bringing the score to Goulburn one goal to Albury’s two.

The Geckos went all out on attack, but got caught out when a long pass found Josh Pritchard, who beat the Geckos goalkeeper to score. 

Albury had three goals now to the Geckos one.

Eight minutes from fulltime Albury’s Andrew Monte scored a good team goal.

Fulltime and Albury had finished with a well played, four goal to one win over Goulburn.

Best for Albury was Charley Wallace in the mid field, goalkeeper Scott Foley who made some great saves and Zac Kraich who worked hard.

Best for Geckos was Jake Staines and Scott Grant.
