I FIND it admirable to see a young person on page 1 of the Post Weekly newspaper to raise money for the poor overseas, but I was disappointed the Salvation Army were relegated to page 3, who raise money for Australians in poverty.

I have had first-hand experience of the Salvation Army, having a parent at Waminda nursing home, and I cannot commend them enough for the work that they do.
I can only hope people get behind the Salvation Army, who are raising money to help AUSTRALIANS in need, through their Red Shield Appeal this past weekend.
I've heard in the media in the last week that people in Sydney are living on $16 a day and not eating properly or getting medical care or prescriptions made up, and I feel that charity begins at home. Or are we becoming a third-world country?
