It has been a tough year for the team which is in the midst of rebuilding after losing several of its experienced players at the end of last season. On Saturday they take on Molonglo at 2.15pm on Goodhew Park. a field where spectators don’t have to leave the comfort of their own cars if the weather is not so favourable.
The Swans have stepped up a grade with the rearranging of the ACTAFL competition and many of the clubs they are now playing they have not encountered for some years if ever..
Last weekend the Swans played Cootamundra, their arch rivals for top spot in the lower grade regional competition of the past. For Both Cootamundra and the Swans iot has been a learning year and the rivalry was certainly present last Saturday.
While it was a very wet game over there the teams were very evenly matched and it made for some exciting football and many closely contested plays. This weekend the swans are hoping to perform even better when Molonglo visits.
Injuries have plagued the Swans as well as unavailabilities through work and other commitments this even prompted president Adam Wilson to strap on the boots again to help out.
The game on Saturday promises to be quite exciting and if spectators get peckish the canteen will be stocked with hot and cold food and drinks plus other snacks.
