William John Obbens, 70, was due to be sentenced in Downing Centre District Court today.
But on Wednesday the date was vacated after the Department of Public Prosecutions advised the court that a pre-sentence report had not been completed.
Judge David Frearson ordered the report at a May 9 District Court sitting in Goulburn, at solicitor Greg Walsh’s request.
On that day Obbens pleaded guilty to three charges of aggravated indecent assault on boys aged under 16 who were under his authority. Police alleged the offences occurred at the former St Patrick’s College between 1987 and 1989 when he was a teacher and dormitory master.
On Wednesday the Downing Centre District Court adjourned sentencing until September 16 at the same jurisdiction to allow the pre-sentence report’s completion.
Obbens’ bail was continued without variation.
