"Essential Energy has restored power to 19,593 customers in Goulburn and surrounds following an unplanned outage this morning (Thursday, 30 June)," said Essential Energy’s Regional Manager Southern, Steven Ilitch.
"Network protection equipment operated automatically to isolate supply at 2.59 am after detecting a fault on the 132,000 volt electricity network."
The unplanned power outage affected customers in Goulburn, Collector, Bungonia, Breadalbane, Gunning, Marulan, Wingello, Mummel, Middle Arm, Crookwell and surrounding areas.
Local crews were immediately dispatched to patrol the power line to find the network fault before supply could begin to be restored.
Power was restored to all customers within 25 minutes by re-configuring the electricity network. The cause of the outage is still being investigated.
Essential Energy reminds customers to call 13 20 80 for information or updates about unscheduled power outages.
