GOULBURN MP Pru Goward has called on the NSW Government to consider funding a $49,000 project to remove weeds in a 1km section of the Wollondilly River.

She made the call as NSW Minister for Lands and Water Niall Blair visited Goulburn on Tuesday to inspect the Wollondilly Walking Track.
Ms Goward invited Mr Blair to meet with Goulburn Mulwaree Council mayor Geoff Kettle and general manager Warwick Bennett at the site.
They discussed funding for the river between Crookwell Rd and Albert St, Goulburn.
"It was great to have the Minister here to inspect this section of the Wollondilly River, which is in much need of rehabilitation, and to understand the importance of this project for our local community," Ms Goward said.
"This funding will not only provide environmental benefits for the river near the Fitzroy St Bridge, but will also optimise public access and rehabilitate the area to be enjoyed by the local community.
"I thank the Minister for visiting the region today and look forward to his consideration of this project and the possible funding grant."
Mr Blair thanked Ms Goward for inviting him to inspect the site and appreciated the opportunity to meet with Goulburn Mulwaree Council representatives.
"The Wollondilly River plays an important role in our water system on the Southern Tablelands," Mr Blair said.
"It was great to get a better understanding of how the rehabilitation works will be of environmental benefit to the river."
