YEAR 9 Mulwaree High School student Darcy Lamb is on cloud nine after being chosen to perform in the 2016 Schools Spectacular this November in Sydney.

He will be a member of the prestigious Core Choir which will consist of 30 kids with microphones in addition to the largest ever choir at the Schools Spectacular, which will be performed at the QUDOS Bank Arena at Sydney Olympic Park on Friday and Saturday, November 25-26.
Darcy is also a member of the Southern Stars vocal contingent, based in Wollongong and has been attending various music camps and vocal sessions throughout the year.
"I was approached by the Southern Stars Solo Vocal Camp manager Peter Howard who invited me to sing with the Southern Stars even though I didn't have an audition," Darcy said.
"I also auditioned for the Schools Spectacular last year, but unfortunately wasn't successful, but this year I was, so I'm really excited to be a part of this wonderful experience."
Darcy has been singing for four years and has also been part of the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium choir for three of those years.
"I just love performing. It releases any stress I might have and makes me feel better about myself," Darcy said.
"I recently sang with the Gondwana Voices choir, who perform overseas, and the feeling during that session was amazing."
He has big aspirations and dreams to be like Australian actor, singer and dancer Hugh Jackman, who he sees as one of his idols.
"I want to go to NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Art) and study drama and acting as well as singing," Darcy said.
"I one day want to make it big on Broadway and even Hollywood! That would be my ultimate dream."
Mulwaree High School deputy principal Norman Meader told the Post he was really proud of Darcy's achievements, and looking forward to working with him in his role as a vocal consultant for Southern Stars.
Goulburn Regional Conservatorium director Paul Scott-Williams was also justifiably proud of Darcy's achievements.
"Darcy's a fantastically talented and very capable kid who's really discovering his potential as a performer," Mr Scott-Williams said.
"Last year he got into the Gondwana Choirs National Program and has since been invited to be a ongoing member of that program. This is the first time a Goulburn student has achieved this.
"He has a voice of real potential, and is starting to demonstrate his skills. He's also about to do an audition for Opera Australia, so we wish him every good luck with that."
