This was the last game for the season for the Goulburn Bears, but the women are determined to come back next year to match it with the other Waratah League teams..
The Shoalhaven and Goulburn rivalry goes back several decades and regardless of the final score whenever the Tigers and Bears clash it is a wildly contested game.
Leading the way for the hosts at the Tiger Den was Kate Denyar with 33 points, while Olivia Patterson and Alannah Forde both chipped in nine.
The team will now wait to see who they will play semifinals, as it will depend on the result between Maitland and Coffs Harbour.
“This weekend, we have a bye but Coffs travel to Maitland,” co-captain Misty Wood said.
“If Coffs win by 24 or more, we go to Coffs next weekend, otherwise we will be playing at Maitland next weekend.
“We would play Maitland purely because of the travel, rather than the matchup, as we believe we can beat either side.”
Until then, Wood said the team will re-group after the weekend’s victory and work hard at training, in preparation for whatever team they are pitted against.
