The Under-15 and U18 grand finals will be played Friday night, August 26, under light at the Goulburn Hockey Complex.
The U15 grand final between Taralga and Ajax will be a close game.
Taralga first defeated Ajax to go through to the grand final, who then overcame Crookwell to bounce back.
Both Ajax and Taralga have some up-and-coming players, making for a great game.
The U18 grand final is a replay of last year between minor premiers North Blues and Spud Diggers.
North Blues defeated Spud Diggers last year in extra time and this season North Blues defeated Spud Diggers to go straight through to the grand final.
Spud Diggers defeated Ajax in the last minute to make the grand final.
Both of these teams have played close games, so expect another tight finish, going down to the wire.
Saturday morning opens with the U11 grand final between Ajax White and Taralga Orange.
Ajax White have been strong all year and defeated Drifters Maroon to go straight through to the grand final.
Taralga Orange defeated Drifters Maroon for another game against Ajax White.
Both of these teams have some talented players for their age and play very well together. A close game is expected.
The U13 grand final will be close, between Taralga Orange and Ajax White.
Taralga Orange defeated Ajax White and went through the grand final leaving Ajax White to play the Fireflys Red in the final.
In a true reflection of just how close these teams are, Ajax White won this game in extra time to have another crack at Taralga Orange.
Again, this should be a close game with some talented players on both sides to bring out the best in their teams.
North Whites 3 and Ajax 3 will play the women’s third grade grand final. Both teams have a mix of youth and experience.
Ajax 3 won the final against Taralga 3. Ajax had to fight hard for this game, with Taralga 3 fighting to the last and unlucky not to force the game into extra time.
Ajax came away with a 3-2 win and a chance to avenge the loss to North Whites 3. This will be a close game between two strong third grade teams.
The women’s second grade grand final is between North Blues and Ajax, who accounted for North Whites Black in the major semi.
The ensuing North Blues and North Whites Black final resulted in a North Blues win, but not without a fight.
The grand final has the potential to go to extra time.
If the major semi final is any indication, this game will be a real battle between two experienced teams.
Fireflys won the major semi final over Colts in one of the closest second grade semi finals for years.
Colts played Drifters in the final and had a solid win for the grand final berth.
This will be a no-quarter-given clash.
