“They don’t understand Council is a funding partner in this agreement,” the Community Plus chairperson said.
“By moving this rescission motion they have precluded Council and the community from a Veolia grant.”
Community Plus had until next week to lodge the grant application. But first it had to undertake costings on refurbishment. That won’t be possible now as Council can’t act until the rescission motion is discussed.
Dr Stephens said the smart work and learning hub had been two years in development and was also tied to university agreements.
The not-for-profit organisation has outgrown its Market St premises and is looking to broaden its base.
