‘Council in the Pub’ will take place on August 29 from 6.30pm upstairs in The Attic at the Astor Hotel on Auburn St.
The evening event is titled "Community Minded: An open forum for Goulburn Mulwaree Council candidates".
Six candidates have already accepted the invitation to be on the panel, including:
- Alisa Stephens
- Peter Finkle
- Leah Ferrara
- Caron Casey
- Cr Andrew Banfield, and
- Cr Bob Kirk.
Politics in the Pub in its present form has been running in Goulburn for two to three years and has grown to be a monthly event.
It was designed to be a family friendly space for the Goulburn community to discuss and exchange ideas.
Politics in the Pub in Goulburn runs as a panel Q&A style forum, and generally attracts a good crowd.
Panelists are invited to make brief opening remarks before taking questions from the crowd.
Portions of the evening will be filmed, and may be distributed via social media as well as linked to goulburnpost.com.au
A second meet-the-candidates forum will be held at the Workers Club on Wednesday, September 7 from 7.30pm.
Candidates are yet to confirm their attendance at this forum, to be hosted by the Goulburn Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.
Residents are encouraged to submit questions via email the Post: editorial.goulburnpost@fairfaxmedia.com.au
Candidates will make a short speech, followed by a Q&A session.
On Saturday, September 10, voting in the council election is compulsory, and nine councillors must be elected.
For your vote to be counted, you must number at least five candidates in order of your preference.
