Electoral Commission announces Goulburn Mulwaree councillors

Nine councillors for Goulburn Mulwaree Council have been announced.

The NSW Electoral Commission finalised distribution of preferences this morning, following a six-day wait.

The councillors in order of election are: Bob Kirk, carol James, Sam Rowland, Margaret O’Neill, Alfie Walker, Peter Walker, Leah Ferrara, Andrew Banfield and Denzil Sturgiss.

The two newcomers are Miss Ferrara, representing The Greens, and independent Peter Walker.

Denzil Sturgiss and Andrew Banfield did not achieve the 1696 quota on primary votes and were elected on preferences.

A total 17,989 people turned out to vote. There are 21, 567 enrolled to vote. The Electoral Commission registered 1037 informal ballot papers.
