“I’m here for the majority and the minority,” she said. “I understand what people want and I want to represent our community.”
The young, fresh-faced councillor couldn’t believe she landed a spot on the council, but was happy when she found out.
One of the few who decided to announce her political standing, Ms Ferrara says that it’s important people know who and what they voted for.
Planning to run in the last election, the Goulburnian was worried she wasn’t ready to commit to the council.
“My parents encouraged me a lot. I had the support, so I told myself, why not now?”
Excited about her future, she will be representing the youth and female demographics. She will also be using social media as a platform to get her message across.
“I feel like a new kid at school and that might be a challenge but I’m a quick learner and will be listening to the councillors.”
