The Lilac-Ulele concert will feature G.R.U.B, Useful @ Heart, Taralga Ukulele Group (TUGs) and the GRC trio.
G.R.U.B was conceived five years ago after locals would sit together on the veranda of the Goulburn Club and play music with their ukulele.
Today G.R.U.B has 30 members and perform at locations around Goulburn. The group meet every Thursday to sing songs, exchange new music and plan performances.
Long time member Ron Mc Laughlin, originally a guitar player, says there is a unique joy in playing the ukulele.
“I was originally attracted to playing the ukulele because of the group aspect of it. I think the idea of singing and playing together is great, it’s a great social gathering,” he said.
“There’s an infectious fun to the instrument and we hope that people will be joining in and singing along to the performance on Monday.”
The event will start at 2 pm in the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium and conclude with the final performance of all four ukulele groups. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
Mr Mc Laughlin encourages people who have an interest in playing the ukulele to head to the G.R.U.B website http://ronmclaughlin.wixsite.com/grubukuleles.
