The day is run in conjunction with the Goulburn Workers Club and the second of the Racing Club’s special spring racing carnival events.
The first was held with Goulburn Spyfest; and the next, the Girls Day Out, will be held on Saturday, November 5.
Kids Day Out is a chance for families to enjoy the excitement of real-time horse racing, and even invite friends along to have fun, including trackside entertainment.
The kids will love playing on the lush green grass, getting their faces painted or spending time in the animal farmyard nursery.
There will be a special kids and young racegoers’ fashions on the field contest, hosted by Kathryn Pengilley and scheduled to take place at 2.15pm.
There are two categories, with three prizes in each: Best Dressed Mini Racegoer for newborns to 10 years; and Best Dressed Young Racegoer for ages 11 to 18.
Both are open to boys and girls.
There are plenty of activities to keep the youngsters amused, including two jumping castles, pony rides and, for the older kids, a bungee run and a caricaturist.
If they feel like dancing, there is a DJ, who will be pumping out the music, too.
Rainbow Faces will be available to paint youngsters’ faces like their favourite television or movie characters or add a more intricate painted decoration.
Their balloon art animals, flowers and sausage balloon sculptures will also delight the young or mini racegoers.
The Goulburn Palliative Care Group is holding a luncheon in the function marquee with special guest, actor and author William McInnes.
The seven race program will feature the Goulburn Worker Club Anniversary Cup and the Cloverlee Poll Hereford Stud Crookwell Cup.
The hot tips from racing specialist, former jockey John Scorse, who will be broadcasting the Sky Racing mounting yard commentary live from the Goulburn race track, will give punters an edge in backing a winner.
Gates open on Sunday at 11.30am and activities runs through till 5pm.
