Goulburn Mulwaree Council chose to approve a development application for a 32 lot subdivision at 22 Fitzroy Street as well as a DA for a new Hungry Jacks at 434 Auburn Street.
We also received a report on the economic impact of the NSW Indoor Hockey Championships which had is estimated to equate to a $3.56 million economic benefit for Goulburn. We will now provide support to secure the 2018 Indoor Australia Hockey Championships for Goulburn which will be a fantastic event!
Council unfortunately had to decline tenders for Veolia Centre Climate Control as they exceeded budget allocation for 2016/17; we will now undertake a revised procurement process to complete the works.
Finally we considered reports on May Street Bridge and Councillor Training and a number of other matters.
These are all available to view online in the minutes of the meeting at the end of this week.
What a Life! Rock Photography by Tony Mott
We have an exciting exhibition opening at our Goulburn Regional Art Gallery next Tuesday, December 13 at 1pm.
Australia’s premier rock photographer, Tony Mott, has captured all aspects of the rock and roll lifestyle through his camera lens over a number of years.
His photos have appeared on 400 posters, the covers of 500 CDs and in more than 900 magazines.
One of the exciting parts of this exhibition will be the opening, to be undertaken by rock legend Jimmy Barnes next Tuesday along with Tony Mott.
Please come along if you are free, or visit the exhibition before the 28th of January.
Bushfire Season
The weather is now heating up and it is very important to plan ahead for summer and make sure you have a sound Bushfire Action Plan. The Rural Fire Service recommends you take four simple steps to get ready for possible bushfires:
- Discuss what to do if a bushfire threatens your home
- Prepare your home and get it ready for bushfire season (clean gutters, keep grass low)
- Know the bushfire alert levels
- Keep all of the bushfire information numbers, websites and the smartphone app.
For more information head to the Rural Fire Service website – there are a number of great resources online.
