Hume LAC police are thanking the public for their assistance following the alleged assault at about 10am on Wednesday, December 28.
Police were called to a shopping centre on Auburn Street following reports of a stealing.
Police have been told that a man was in a store when he allegedly abused a female staff member and spat in her face.
Officers were contacted and commenced an investigation into the incident.
As a part of this investigation, police appealed to members of the public for their assistance.
Officers received a significant amount of information and, as a result, a 34-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with assault and offensive conduct.
The man will appear before Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday February 15, 2017.
Police would like to thank the public for their assistance during the investigation.
