Amy Armriding of Queanbeyan has adopted two rescue dogs from ACT RSPCA.
She rescued Max, the Chihuahua X Pomeranian, and Timmy, the Fox Terrier X.
“My husband and I adopted our two boys from the RSPCA in the A.C.T. We've had Timmy for two years and Max for one-year,” Mrs Armriding said.
“Timmy was found by a member of the public wandering the streets, he was microchipped and his former owners were contacted, but never came to pick him up.
“I met Timmy one day when I was volunteering with the RSPCA and immediately fell in love with him, so my husband met him the following day and we brought him home! He is a happy, friendly, bouncy bundle of energy and can't get enough games of fetch, tug-o-war or walkies time.”
Max was surrendered by his previous family and sadly shows signs of a rough past, he is timid around strangers, initially very scared of other dogs, hates being handled unexpectedly around his tail and cries when picked up without warning.
“It's taken a lot of conditioning, but Max has slowly come out of his shell, loves a good snuggle once he is comfortable with someone new and even managed to make friends with a Jack Russell he met a few days ago,” Mrs Armriding said.
“These two cheeky boys are the most amazing companions, friends and soul mates anyone could ask for and I believe that rescued is definitely the best breed out there!”
