A STRONG field of Goulburn Golf Club members showed up for the first monthly medal competition of 2017 on Saturday. With a slight breeze blowing and the sun shining brightly, plenty of players turned up early ready to start their golfing year with a brisk walk around the greens.

For some it fitted in well with their desire to shed a little of the festive season over indulgence and perhaps improve on their round averages from 2016.
Conditions were certainly conducive for this as the dew on the grass started to dry off and the run of the ball became quicker and longer.
On Saturday, for the first time, some golfers found themselves the subject of a video clip on Facebook as they teed off on the first. It’s part of the Goulburn Post's new year's resolution for more online video content.
