The Golden Era Auto Racing club celebrates an era of amateur Australian motor sport that ended in the early 1960s, noted for its wide variety of cars, raced by famous or colourful characters.
The Grand Prix at Goulburn in 1927 was a series of handicap races. The winner, Geoff Meredith, a Windellama grazier, drove a Type 30 straight eight Bugatti.
Get along to Wakefield Park on Saturday, January 14, between 10am and 4pm, to see automobiles from another age driving to beat their own score.
The “Bol d’Or” (endurance race) will commemorate the 90th anniversary. Entry to the Saturday event is free.
