TAFE NSW Illawarra engagement coordinator Roslyn Simmons said the administration centre at the Goulburn campus would be open until 6pm each day this week to allow people to attend and get their questions answered.
“People can talk to customer service officers about courses enrollments and learner support services,” Ms Simmons said.
“We are also running tours of the campus and information sessions at 10am, 2pm and 5pm on [Thursday] January 19 to allow people to get a first-hand look at the campus and facilities.”
She said specific information sessions would be held for Building and Construction, Automotive Industries, Early Childhood Early Education and Care and studies in Human Services, which included Aged Care and Welfare. These would also be held at the Goulburn campus on January 19.
The information sessions will be held on Thursday from 3pm till 6pm in the administration building.
The TAFE will also have a stall in Goulburn Square [enter from Auburn Street] on Wednesday, January 18 from 8.30am until 5.30pm.
“Open Week showcases TAFE’s innovative approach to high-quality education and training that enables students to get jobs and careers for the future,” Ms Simmons said.
“TAFE NSW Illawarra will be joining with nine other TAFE institutes across more than 130 campuses throughout NSW, to collectively highlight TAFE NSW’s extensive facilities, course offerings, employer partnerships, world-class training and technology.
“Students will be able to talk to graduates and discuss job opportunities.”
NSW TAFE Institute director Belinda Mackinnon said this year’s Open Week would be the first time TAFE NSW had held a collaborative state-wide event. “It is expected to attract more than 40,000 people,” she said.
“Whether you’re looking for a career in technology, fashion, horticulture, aged care or construction, come and discover TAFE NSW’s vast array of courses.”
