Her latest exhibition called Dogs and Delights is opening at 98 Chairs in Goulburn at 4pm on February 25.
“As a young person, I would be drawing in the sand with sticks and rocks, looking at clouds for images,” Ms Parker said.
“I love how my art can transport me back to being that child again, to being free, innocent and alive.
“I am passionate about the desire to create and my goal is to create artwork that is individual, fresh, lively and organic.”
Ms Parker said her her paintings are a reflection of the beauty of her subjects.
“Whether it is dogs, still lifes or other of Mother Nature’s beautiful creations, my art is created for me and if one is to fall in love with it as well then my job is done.
“It will serve as a visual delight for generations to come.”
Ms Parker said the subjects she liked painting include objects from her garden or creatures she has met.
“In my painting process, I begin with a conte sketch, which is lightly covered with a scraping of coloured gesso,” she said.
“The subject is then painted with either chalk or acrylic paint, applied by use of cut up cardboard, a palate knife and scrapers.
“I enjoy finishing with splashes of black and white to liven the work. My choice of colour palette is generally three colours and these choices are determined by moods and whim. My soul sings when I paint.”
Ms Parker generally works with acrylic knife paintings on canvas.

“I use everything from the kitchen – scourers and scrapers – in fact whenever I bake a cake and need a scraper or a spatula I can never find one because they’re always in the studio,” she said.
