Busted Custard and Forty Twenty Two won for owner-trainer Bill Turnbull at Goulburn last week and both look capable of repeating that feat.

The litter brothers jump from box two in the 5th grade Madbookie Stakes (race eight, 350m) and box four in the 5th grade Goulburn Workers Club Stakes (race nine, 350m) respectively.

Both clocked decent winning times last week.

Busted Custard won over the 350m from box seven in 20.05sec. “He is quite a timid greyhound,” Turnbull said.

“At first he used to be terrified of the training squeakers.

“We just let him have the run of our place.

“He lies on the back step watching everyone come and go – he’s like a family pet.”

Busted Custard faces a tricky field including multiple winner Gazza Tron (box eight).

Forty Twenty Two clocked a speedy 19.95 win from box five. Turnbull has been training for pver 40 years and loves the mateship.

“We’re not in it for the money,” the 72-year-old said.

“It’s really about the good people you meet.

“The other day at Goulburn I met people I hadn’t seen for 12 months.

“When I got the two winners, I got congratulations from everywhere.

“Forty Twenty Two is the quicker greyhound, but I think Busted Custard will eventually have more stamina.”

In the other races, Sheza Pretzel (box one) showed improved form last start in Goulburn and has the draw to win the first heat of Palmerbet 1-3 Wins Series (race three, 440m).

Spirit Of Bella (box six) clocked 25.2,1 placing l behind the winner Something New last week, and can win heat two (race four).

Prying Eyes (box seven) has been out of form and should be stronger from recent efforts over the 535m, so could win heat three (race five).

Les Zarr Lee (box two) has made a solid career start and looks the top pick in heat four (race six).

He has won twice and placed three times in seven starts for trainer Neil Staines.

The 11-race program starts at 12.02pm on Tuesday, March 21.
