Dalton Public School on Jobson Street is holding its annual fete from 9am to 1pm, March 25.
One of the organisers, Kath Vivas, says the fete is the main event in the town each year especially for kids and their families.
So on Saturday there will be “heaps of kids’ activities: face painting, a jumping castle, games and parades for fancy dress”.
A Rural Fire Service truck will be on static display for anyone curious to have a clamber through it. There will also be a wood pile raffle, and tickets sold to win a quilt (pictured) made by Janet Heffernan.
“Lots of really yummy stalls with cake, coffee, and a barbecue” will sit alongside market stalls with crafts and arts, plus displays from a local metalwork artist and Tupperware.
A “massive” trash-n-treasure market will also be a feature, with Mrs Vivas saying she’d received a record number of donations.
“All the prices are bargain basement because we just want people to come and have a good time and help raise money for the school,” Mrs Vivas said.
Monies raised are likely to be invested in updating the school library, she said.
