A 38-year-old male from Grong Grong driving a little Ford Festiva failed to stop for police at Pejar. Police eventually caught up with him at a Carrick rest area, and allege he was involved in traffic-related incidents and pursuits in Narrandera, Wagga Wagga, Cowra and Griffith, on numerous warrants.
The page 1 story tells all.
A young male driver was also seen flying down the Hume Highway in a black Maloo ute. I have seen footage: he had all eight cylinders pumping hard! There would have been carnage had this car collided with something else.
After passing through the Hume LAC, the driver went on to carjackings and further serious crime. Some great police work saw both driver and passenger locked up. Once again the community is a far safer place.
Another Chrome operation was held over the weekend throughout the Hume, Monaro and Cootamundra LACs.
Police targeted driver behaviour throughout rural areas with a number of drivers caught for drink driving and other offences away from main roads and highways.
Locally, police caught drivers at Tarago and Burrawang for drink driving offences. It appears many were not expecting to see police out where they got caught, with most saying: “What are you doing out here?” or “You guys are never out here!” This operation will continue over the coming weekends with police pushing out into the more rural areas of our community.
We also had a young bloke from Moss Vale tell quite the story, saying was bashed by three unknown males after the Moss Vale Show.
He eventually admitted he had not been assaulted at all. It was purely misadventure that caused him to end up in hospital. We will be speaking to this bloke once he gets out.
Be confident: if anyone steps out of line, police will do something about it.
