Spellbound gratitude
Last Friday night my wife and I had the absolute pleasure of being in the audience of Lieder Theatre's performance of Twelfth Night.

We were totally spellbound by the cast who led us through the intricacies of Shakespearian comedy.
We laughed and cringed while sitting out in the character-filled back yard of the Goulburn Club.
Who can forget those cheeky faces peering over the back wall?
It was an absolute credit to the talented performing artists of Goulburn, who were beautifully supported by a period orchestra.
Thank you for a wonderfully entertaining evening.

Cause for thanks
On Saturday, February 18, BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc held its sixth ‘Movie under the Stars’ at Kingsdale Winery with the showing of The Intern.
As in previous years, our sponsors generously supported our efforts to raise money to purchase much-needed equipment for Goulburn Base Hospital.
I cannot thank them enough for their ongoing commitment to our endeavours.
I also thank those who came and enjoyed the night and ensured its success.
I have had excellent feedback from those who attended.
Our local media, too, gave us much support and I thank the Goulburn Post and 2GN.
I also thank Goulburn Mulwaree Council for its support.
We raised $5705.50, which will go toward the purchase of a table-mounted retractor system for theatre and an Airvo-2 bundle, which is used for extreme respiratory problems.
Goulburn and district again showed it generosity for a good cause. My thanks.
Nerida Cullen, President, BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc.
Quad bike safety
I write to ensure your readers are aware of the rebates available to help increase quad bike safety across our state.
Like your readers, I am deeply concerned about the number of quad bike deaths and injuries and I have been saddened by the recent deaths.
Since 2011, 112 people have lost their lives in quad bike accidents nationally, with 30 of these tragedies occurring in NSW. Those figures are totally unacceptable.
The NSW Government’s Quad Bike Safety Improvement Program, introduced last July, gave farmers access to a one-off rebate to buy helmets, undertake training, retrofit safety equipment to existing quad bikes, and/or buy a safer side-by-side farm vehicle.
Earlier this month, we doubled the rebate to $1000 for the purchase of a side-by-side vehicle, $500 for the retrofitting of safety equipment to an existing quad bike, and $90 for the purchase of an approved helmet.
As many farmers have more than one quad bike, they can now also apply for two rebates, meaning they can be eligible for up to $2000, rather than the original $500 if they are buying side-by-sides.
Further information is available from www.safework.nsw.gov.au and I really encourage your readers to visit the website and find out what they can do to reduce their risk of death or injury.

Inclusiveness and respect
As a migrant, I am full of joy to see Harmony Day celebrations throughout Australia. Cultural diversity is our biggest strength. Such celebrations give us a sense of inclusiveness, respect and belongingness.
Nowadays, there is so much negativity and fear mongering about migration policies. It seems that some people want to turn a blind eye on the human sufferings and take away hope and opportunity for a better life from those who have already lost everything.
