This milestone was acknowledged on Friday by the company’s current owners and former owner – Peter Bryant – who came back to Goulburn for the occasion.
“Is it 30 years? It does not seem that long,” said Kerry.
“It is easy to be happy when you like your job and the people you work for. I have worked with wonderful people who have treated me amazingly.
“Peter and Margaret Bryant were exceptionally good to me and I also want to also acknowledge the support I got from Marie Moore. She taught me everything. She was my rock.”
Kerry has a special rapport with many of the store’s regular customers.
“I feel like a lot of the customers are nearly my family - they come in all the time,” she said.
She has seen much change over those 30 years.
“I have seen lots of change but the basic pies remain the same - new flavours have been added, but a lot of it is still done was exactly as it was back then,” she said.
Current owner Tony Neate thanked her. “On behalf of the three current owners, I congratulate Kerry on 30 years of work,” Mr Neate said. “She has been the face of the shop in the mall – everyone knows her and she has done a wonderful job.”
Former Bryants Pies owner Peter Bryant and his wife Margaret were back in Goulburn on the day to celebrate Kerry Radburn’s milestone.
Mr Bryant said he was proud the Bryants Pies legacy continues.
“I visited the new bake house (near the Post Office) this morning and it seems fantastic - some of the machines are 50 years old but still going - it was a bit nostalgic to see them,” he said.
