For those teams lucky enough to contest the grand finals, the weather turned out quite favourable.
Following the conclusion of the second day’s play, the junior association held its presentation at the Goulburn Soldiers Club.
In the under 12 game between Wollondilly Green and Crookwell White, Crookwell finished as premiers. and were awarded the Soldiers Club Shield.
The under 12 Batsman of the Year, Cameron Herd, was a member of the winning side. He scored 247 runs in the season.
Winner of the Brian Lulham Under 12 Junior Cricketer of the Year was Mitch Latham from Wollondilly Green. He scored 218 runs and claimed six wickets.
Jackson Searle from Crookwell Blue was the Under 12s Bowler of the Year with 14 wickets. He also scored a hat trick.
The Under 14s premiership trophy went to Wollondilly Gold, who had a convincing win against Wollondilly Green. Josh Latham from Wollondilly Green was the Under 14s Player of the Year, Abdul Raheem was the Batsman of the Year with 168 runs, and Wollondilly Gold teammate Maddison Hoffmann was Bowler of the Year with 11 wickets. She and Jasper Foti from Crookwell scored hat tricks.
Jack Burke from Trinity and Josh Lumsden from Wollondilly Gold each achieved a five-wicket innings in the season.
The Under 16s grand final went right down to the wire, with either side likely to finish on top.
In the end it was Crookwell who defended their runs to win by just seven runs.
Right from the Saturday morning, the contest looked as though it could go either way with Crookwell’s batsmen playing a mix of long drives that often were pulled up by the wet field and defensive shots as Wollondilly’s bowlers tried for wickets and run rate containment. The final score was Crookwell 9/168, Wollondilly 7/161.
Brad Smith from Crookwell was awarded the Goulburn Soldiers Club Under 16 Junior Cricketer of the Year with 253 runs and four wickets.
The batting award went to Dane Klower of Crookwell with 163 runs and the Bowler of the Year was Jacob McGregor with 15 wickets.
He and Ryan Wake from Wollondilly scored hat tricks and McGregor also achieved a five-wicket innings.
Junior representative player honours went to under 12s Patrick Craig, under 15s Dane Klower and under 16s Braiden McCarten.
Two players shared the Graeme Rabjohns Perpetual Trophy for attitude, effort and improvement in under 12s: Charlie Moroney and Lachlan Greig.
Nicholas Yeadon was the under 14s recipient.
Another special award, the Aaron Evans Rising Star Perpetual Award, was presented by Kathryn Evans-Jervis to Maddison Hoffmann, who had a great year in the local competition and as a representative player.
Volunteer of the Year was Amy Edwards and Vince Davis received the GDJCA Exceptional Service Award for his many years of coaching, umpiring and setting up Milo Cricket with Graeme Rabjohns.
