Back at work this week after two weeks of R&R on the high seas of the South Pacific. My first ever cruise with the family and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone thinking about doing it. Fantastic experience, awesome service, and especially the kids very well catered for to allow Mum and Dad to have some well needed alone time!

Back to more serious topics, it was an honour to represent The Hume LAC at the Goulburn Dawn Service and the Mittagong march. Both events were very well attended and it was great to see the respect shown to those who have served and are serving our great country. They give up their tomorrow for our today. Lest We Forget.
I would also like to thank our community for their behaviour over the Anzac Day period. Sometimes unfortunately this day is seen as an excuse for some numbskulls to get on the drink and make a fool of themselves. However we saw hardly any examples of alcohol-related crime or anti-social behaviour throughout our community so it just goes to show the respect we have locally for this very special day on our calendar.
We have seen a slight increase in property related crime in the Southern Highlands sector of our command, especially the Burradoo area. I strongly encourage residents in that area to keep a look out for anyone acting suspiciously and please let us know if you see anything unusual. Call us directly at Bowral Police Station or Crimestoppers, anonymously if you like, and we will chase it up. Help us to help you.
Operation Go Slow was held over five days during the last weekend and Anzac Day. Nearly 4,000 random breath tests were conducted throughout our command area. What was pleasing was only a handful of positive breath tests were identified which is a fantastic result. Hopefully the message is slowly seeping through. A further emphasis to all those living in our outer rural areas that we will be out in your area and you are not immune from police attention.
