Emergency services were called to a property on Grunsell Crescent after reports of a fire just after 4pm Sunday.
Police and Fire & Rescue NSW attended and found a shed well alight.
The blaze was extinguished; however, the shed was significantly damaged.
Despite the efforts of neighbours, a number of animals including snakes, rabbits and birds died.
Officers attached to The Hume Local Area Command will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
