A spokesperson from the Southern NSW Local Health District said Stroke Recovery Clubs are meeting places for people to share their knowledge and experiences of Stroke.
They provide an opportunity for group activities, speech practice, exercises, and outings. Clubs are an excellent source of companionship for all those affected by stroke, including family and carers.
Supported by the Stroke Recovery Association, the club provides support and a social environment for members. The group sets the agenda, enjoying a number of social activities, guest speakers, a variety of social activities and projects, as well as engaging in ongoing conversation.
We would like to extend an invitation to community members who have been affected by stroke, along with their families and carers, to come along to our next meeting on Friday, June 2 from 12.30pm to 2pm, with following meetings to be held on the first Friday of each month.
Meetings will be held in the Winya Walu-Win Room, Bourke Street Health Service, 234 Bourke St, Goulburn (entrance and parking from Arnheim St).
