A number of animals including snakes, rabbits and birds died in a blaze, which damaged the shed of a house at about 4pm on Sunday.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) and police were called on the scene.
Police said neighbours who were near the property at the time of the outbreak assisted in keeping the animals safe from harm.
The shed was reported to be quickly extinguished.
“The matter is not suspicious,” Hume LAC Detective Inspector Chad Gillies said on Tuesday.
“There is nothing sinister about the incident and it did not warrant for further investigations.”
