The speed for the road will jump down from 100 km/h to 80 km/h starting next month.
“Reducing the speed limit will improve motorist’s safety and provide consistency with other roads in the area,” MP Pru Goward said.
“Oallen Ford Road is a rural road providing a connection between Nowra, Nerriga and Goulburn for a variety of road users. Nearby Nerriga Road has been progressively upgraded in recent years, which has increased traffic on Oallen Ford Road.”
The review by the council included plans to install a curve advisory sign.
“In the five years to 31 December 2015, there were 31 crashes on Oallen Ford Road resulting in 31 casualties which include one fatality and eight people seriously injured,” she said.
Electronic message signs will be installed at both ends of Oallen Ford Road and Windellama Road for the week in the lead up.
The new speed limit will be in effect from June 13.
