Organiser Jason Shepherd said regional jobs were critical to ensure a viable future for Goulburn.
“We need to attract new industries and opportunities. We also have to look after and keep our existing jobs in health, education, local government and the prison,” he said.
“We need to make sure that in NSW Liberal Government’s rush to privatise our assets, we in the bush are not left with nothing but fly in fly out contract workers and a high local unemployment rate.
“We need to make it easier for those who have left to come back. We need to move away from our biggest export being our young and move towards giving them a future.
“We have to balance our efforts between making sure we have good services and amenities for our current residents whilst building interest and opportunities to attract people to live here.”
It is on upstairs at the Astor Hotel from 6.30pm.
