We have so far conducted an extensive search involving numerous police, SES volunteers, Polair, police dogs and police divers throughout the vicinity of where she was last seen near Mount Alexandra.
At the time of going to press, we are concentrating our efforts in the Mount Gibraltar area whilst continuing to search the Mount Alexandra area.
My sincere hope is that we find Mrs Lidden as soon as possible. We continue to have grave concerns for her welfare. I feel for the family of Mrs Lidden and we will do all we can to find her.
There were couple of good arrests out of Yass over the last few days.
A pair of young blokes decided to help themselves to other peoples property secured in storage sheds.
Some great police work from the team at Yass, along with some help from the local community, was able to quickly identify those involved and both have now been charged with numerous property theft related matters.
It goes to show the Yass community sure does look out for each other and also have a great working relationship with their local police.
That message resonates throughout the Hume Command, the community and police working closely together building a safer community.
With the snow season upon us we will see even greater use of our roads as snow lovers make their way to our neighbouring snow fields.
Our police will be out in force to do all we can to stop those who are too tired to drive, or are taking a hit of meth to get them through long hours of driving, or those who have had too much to drink and decide to drive, or those who drive too fast for the conditions.
I would really like to avoid a spike in serious traffic accidents coinciding with the snow season so once again I urge all our road users to drive with care, and drive so you, and others, survive.
Until next week...
