In-form Spiders Brother (box six) jumps in the day’s Free-For-All race eight over the 350m aiming to further extend his 40 win and 26 minor placings from 86 start record. The son of Collision and Rockarena has won three of his last four starts, including a Best-of-the-Night effort over the 310m at Canberra last week.
Spiders Brother endured a rare failure on his last visit to Goulburn last month, finishing sixth in a similarly high-quality Free-For-All over this trip, but the Neil Staines-trained greyhound has an otherwise amazing record at the track. He had won all 10 of his previous races here – all over the 350m – and if in full fitness should have too much pace for these.
Local hope File The Writ jumps from box seven looking a strong chance to continue his own impressive form at Goulburn. A star of Ruth Matic’s Canyonleigh kennels, File the Writ has won his last six starts at Goulburn and seven of his 15 appearances there. He clocked an impressive 19.96 winning yet again over the 350m at the track last week and a repeat would likely win this one.
Three heats of the Palmerbet Goulburn-Wentworth Park Series over the 440m, races five, six and seven are also on Tuesday’s card.
In-form duo littermates La Chica Pequena (box five) and Big Gora (box six), both from the Donna Campbell kennel, look the top chances in the first two heats.
Country Commet (box three), another from the Neil Staines kennel, ran a smart 25.01 over the 440m last month and looks the top pick in heat three (race seven).
Staines should score another victory in the day’s final race with his eye-catching newcomer Nangar Panther (box seven). Bred by Dennis and Ann Barnes, Nangar Panther won on debut over the 310m at Canberra last week.
Action in Goulburn’s 11 race card starts at 11.40pm.
