Towrang's Wi-Fi
The Towrang Park Committee, Towrang Brigade and the Goulburn Group have installed Goulburn Free Wi-Fi to the Towrang village. There are many 'black spots' within our area which make it difficult to access the internet for school projects, work and so on and this generally means a trip into Goulburn to access the free Wi-Fi available in the CBD.

Now it is not necessary. The Wi-Fi is installed through the support of the brigade and is available for all to access in the central village and park area. If in the village, just turn up with your computer, use your Wi-Fi network settings to find 'Goulburn Free WiFi' and connect through that site.
If there is sufficient interest, there is a possibility that the hall could be opened for a couple of hours once a week after school hours to assist local students. Please send an email to towrangnoticeboard@yahoo.com.au if you would be interested in this option so that we can gauge the amount of interest in this idea.
If you are accessing this service, please do not park near the fire station. Access is required to this area at all times.
Towrang Village sign competition
The Towrang Valley Progress Group is conducting a competition to develop a sign for the entrances to the Village. We have been offered some stones for the use of the sign – now we need some artistic people to submit their designs. The designs need to be suitable for use on stone, be serviceable (ie not have to be maintained every 12 months) and representative to our area. They could be painted, timber, rocks or metal. Send your design and details to Geoff Pearson at geoffpearson@live.com.au
Brigade News
There are a number of new residents in the area. If you are interested in joining the brigade or just need some information on fire protection or hazard reduction, please come along on a Tuesday evening from 7.30pm when the station is open for training, maintenance, administration and getting ready for the next fire season. Someone is always available to answer your questions.
Hazard reduction is taking place throughout the area. Keep going before the winter winds and rain arrive. Just remember you need to contact Yass Fire Control on 6226 3100 Monday-Friday, 9am-2pm to get your details placed on the burns list. Please note that if you intend to burn off, or even have a large pile burn/bonfire on a weekend, you need to have rung before 2pm on the Friday. Don't forget to advise your neighbours 24 hours beforehand. Lastly, send a text message to the brigade duty phone (0438 298 271) stating you are about to light up and leave your name and address.
Towrang T-shirts
Towrang has its own souvenir t-shirts for sale (see photo). They are $20 and are in limited numbers and sizes but more can be ordered. Please contact Sue Pearson on susanpearson@live.com for details.
