Amanda is an independent curator, storyteller and creative artist who specialises in community-based collaborations, cultural healing and connection programs; and writing multi-voiced narratives for exhibitions, multimedia and publications.

On June 26, Amanda will be presenting an after-hours talk at the Goulburn Mulwaree Council Chambers gallery centred on her creative community collaboration Barangaroo Ngangamay, which was undertaken with Genevieve Grieves.

The collaboration culminated in an augmented reality multimedia app which celebrates Aboriginal women’s culture within the Sydney Region. Attendees are encouraged to download the free Barangaroo Ngangamay app at home before the talk and bring their smartphone or tablet along to experience a sample of the site-specific multimedia work.

The talk will be held in the chambers from 5:30pm – 7pm, and this is a free event.

On June 27 members of the local Aboriginal community are invited to nurunyal-wali (possum armband) workshop, where participants will be guided in making an armband illustrating personal or community connection. This program is for Aboriginal people of all ages, but children do need adult supervision.
