Residents across the Goulburn Mulwaree area have reported burst pipes and no access to water following a colder than usual -9.7 degrees morning.
Director and owner of Goulburn Plumbing Scott Hore says one on call plumber has at least a dozen jobs listed, with more calls expected to come.
Mr Hore says the complaints were in relation to burst pipes and hot water systems.
This follows a 23-year record for the coldest July day today. Weather reports have also confirmed the region was coldest in the state.
Despite the expected severity of Goulburn’s winter, he says it is usually not this drastic.
Professionals Real estate Goulburn property officer Kathy Gay says she has also been inundated with calls.
“Burst pipes, no hot water, no cold water, no water, two burst water mains – this is what people have been saying,” she listed.
She described the tenants as very obliging and says the plumbers are getting the job done.
Residents have taken to social media to share their experiences.
One woman said her toothpaste tube was frozen, another said taps were frozen solid.
The Bureau of Meteorology expect it will be another cold day on Sunday, with temperatures reaching as low as -7 degrees.
