The Blues held a steady lead for the first half, but the efforts of Blake Hewitt, Tyler Cornish and Dom Stephens saw the Bulldogs clawing back at 28-12 by half time.
The start of the second half saw Zack Hart push through with a try, but this was quickly challenged by a succession of tries and pressure by the Blues.
A try by Nicholas Cornish in the final minutes was unable to create a much-needed home swing with the Blues winning 46-28.
The Bulldogs reserve team lost 30-6, but it was a different tune for the Ladies League Tag who ended the game with a victorious 46-4.
The U18s also had reason to celebrate, holding a consistent offensive and defensive play throughout the match and defeating the Blues 52-0.
