“In doing this, we can work with the client to plan the best hearing solutions for them, whether it be ongoing monitoring of their hearing or proceeding to a hearing aid fitting”.
Bloom Hearing Specialists initially serviced Goulburn clients by way of a visiting site, but they have had a permanent operation in place for nine years.
They say this decision was in reaction to the needs and level of demand in the local community at the time.
Michelle is supported by Client Care Specialist Berlinda Roberts, and both ladies have been looking after the hearing needs of Goulburn since 2008.
“We are the only full-time clinic here in Goulburn, as opposed to other providers who are here part-time on a visiting basis” illustrates Michelle.
“We provide home visits to our client’s home and nursing homes as well for those that are immobile.
“We’re really committed to providing Goulburn with the highest quality hearing assessment, advice and ongoing care.”
Bloom Hearing Specialists provide full hearing assessments and diagnosis of hearing loss, prescription and fit of hearing devices, assisted listening devices, and hearing rehabilitation.
Michelle and Berlinda also tell us that they understand the value that they can provide to the entire local community through proactive hearing assessments and discussion around hearing loss and treatment.
They have established long-term relationships with local groups like the Rotary Club and the Diabetes Support Group, as well as local medical clinics and visit them regularly to provide free screening tests.
These visits are part of ongoing support to hearing aid wearers.
They also provide nursing home staff with advice and tutorials regarding instruction on insertion of hearing devices as well as cleaning and managing them to ensure clients get the best out of their hearing devices.
Michelle and Belinda both declare that they love their jobs, and in particular the difference that they can make to so many locals’ lives.
“Hearing loss can be a daunting and confronting topic for a lot of people” Michelle points out.
“Clients are often not aware of what they may be missing out on day to day, so seeing them engage and converse with their family and friends again, without confusion or frustration, is great.”
Helpfully, “We’re also easy to find, being in the same building as Ray White, and on the same street as the Ambulance and Police stations.”
