A witness at the scene said the car was well-alight and smoke could be seen from a few kilometres away.

“By the time I got the photo the fire was mostly extinguished and most of the smoke was gone,” the witness said. 

An RFS unit from Collector was in attendance and other units also arrived later to assist.
