The games are against the Yass Magpies, who are serious contenders for the first grade, ladies league tag, reserve grade and open women's Katrina Fanning Shield tackle finals.
Yass is sitting third in the first grade competition with 21 points; Goulburn is in sixth spot on 18 points.
Between them are Tuggeranong Bushrangers and West Belconnen Warriors, both on 20 points, but on for-and-against points, the Bushrangers are plus-80 and West Belconnen plus-5.
Even if both these teams lose, there needs to be a huge score difference in both those games for the Bulldogs to sneak into fourth position; and that will only be possible if Goulburn plays the game of their season and has a runaway win over Yass.
Stranger things have happened, though, and Goulburn has a team capable of winning well, provided they get an early run of points and keep going strongly for the entire game. First grade kick-off on August 13 is at 2pm.
The real interest for Goulburn fans on Sunday should be in the under 18s game and the women's league tag.
Goulburn under 18s are comfortably in fourth spot and Yass out of the running; however, a good win for Goulburn and an upset win for Gungahlin Bulls over Woden Valley Rams could push the Bulldogs up into third spot.
The Women's League tag, down for 11.20am, is a two-versus-three clash. Both teams are on 28 points, but on the for-and-against points difference, Yass is on 320 and Goulburn 298 points.
Goulburn will be out to contain the leading try scorer of the women's tag competition, Sophie Broadhead, who used to call Goulburn home when a junior playing touch and competing in little athletics.
Broadhead's sprint speed and agility is why she is the league’s leading try scorer with 22 trys for the season so far. Goulburn's Amelia Marmont is the third-highest try scorer on 15 tries, with Amy Day in fifth spot on 14. Goulburn's Sally Curry is top kicker for the league tag with 53 goals, well ahead of the second-highest scorer, Farah Atallah from Yass Girl Pies, with 36 points.
A win for Goulburn will see the Bulldogs step up to second spot for the finals and a loss will maintain the current standing.
Divers drop into game
Spectators at the first grade men’s Bulldogs game on Sunday will be treated to unique half time entertainment.
Skydivers from Adrenaline Skydive will perform a free fall at 5000 feet to land on the oval. Organiser James Roberts says the event is a way to show the community the skills and safety of the sport.
“It's been a great experience working with the Bulldogs to organise this unique event and I hope it gives the Bulldogs the support they need to win the season’s final home game,” he said. “I want other people to get involved, that's why I came up with the idea for this display day.”
The jump will start at 2.20pm. Mr Roberts said weather would determine the jump.
