Is it true that if there is no copper connection to your house, then Sky Muster is the only option within the village of Gunning?
With ADSL services routinely achieving 16-20mbps and costing around $120/month for 1,000GB download and unlimited phone calls, Sky Muster users are paying around $159/month for 60GB download plus unlimited calls.
People living on properties report that Sky Muster is a vast improvement but if you build in Gunning village, your service may be somewhat less than expected despite the billions of dollars spent on NBN.
Gunning residents are keen to hear these rumours disproved.
Maybe the Australian Communications and Media Authority needs to check this out.
CANCER FUNDRAISER
Following the clash between the Gunning Roos and the Crookwell Green Devils this Saturday, everyone is encouraged to converge on the Roos’ major sponsor, the Telegraph Hotel for its annual cancer fundraiser from 4.30pm.
There will be plenty of raffles so get your bidding arms warmed up. Later from 7pm there will be karaoke for all those aspiring songsters!
85th ANNIVERSARY DINNER
A vital part of any rural community is its rural fire brigade and ours is celebrating its 85th anniversary with a dinner on Saturday, September 2 at the Old Coach Stables restaurant.
NSW RFS Long Service Medals for recognition of dedication and service will be presented on the night by Rob Rogers AFSM and Peter Alley.

ULLADULLA BECKONS
At the July Gunning Garden Club meeting, members were told of a variety of upcoming outings and guest speakers. Apart from local activities, the Garden Clubs of Australia will be holding its 2017 convention in Ulladulla from November 5-10 with registrations due early September.
Of particular interest because of local involvement through Troy Willoughby of Gunning Ag & Water Solutions in its landscaping and irrigation, is the garden at Willinga Park. This garden has been created from remnant degraded grazing country with two half-day tours on offer. Check out the program at www.gardenclubs.org.au.
