The club held its monthly meeting at Cascades Restaurant Centretown Lagoon Motel on Friday, August 11.
President Rona Hope welcomed everybody. Birthdays for July were Betty Rose, Evelyn Boswell and Joyce Heffernan. Betty Thorburn (pictured) celebrated her birthday in August.
AGM
Rona attended the 48th Annual General Meeting of the Central Council of Lantern Clubs held at Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children North Rocks in Sydney on Tuesday, August 8.
Chris Rehn, RIDBC chief executive, was the guest speaker.
Taralye RIDBC Victoria has three sites now. Toowoomba RIDBC was funded by a benefactor by $2.4 million. RIDBC now has 21 sites Australia wide.
Movie morning
A movie morning is being planned by our club on Tuesday, August 29. Tea, coffee and scones from 10am. The movie Hampstead starts at 10.30am at the Lilac City Cinema Lilac Place Goulburn. Cost $15, all inclusive.
Bookings and monies to be given to Rona Hope by Friday, August 25. Phone Rona on 4821 5148. Tickets will be available for collection in the foyer on the day of the movie, cinema opens from 10am.
